Elements… the building blocks of our balanced energies
Modern science accepts that the universe including us is made up of energy not matter. This is not a new belief although I am sure all the super clever scientists have more proof J
Socrates said that “energy, or soul, is separate from matter, and that the universe is made of energy – pure energy which was there before man and other material things like the earth came along”
Modern science has proven that all living organisms are made up from Carbon, Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Oxygen, Phosphorus and Sulphur. Thinking about it this is not far away from believes that are thousands of years old. In ancient Chinese philosophy it is believed that the universe is made up of the five elements – Water, Wood, Fire, Earth and Metal.
The philosophy is that all the elements work together but in both Generating and Overcoming matters. Therefore a balance is needed.
Wood feeds Fire – Fire creates Earth (Ash) – Earth bears Metal – Metal collects Water - Water nourishes Wood
Wood parts Earth (roots and trees prevent Soil Erosion) - Earth dams (or dirties or absorbs) Water - Water extinguishes Fire - Fire melts Metal – Metal Chops Wood
Sounds like a complicated game of Paper, Scissors, Stone…. however in Traditional Chinese Medicine the theory is that internal organs and systems are categorized and connected. If all the elements are in balance the energies flow correctly for a healthy body and mind.
Adapted from Alpha Omega Therapeutics below are the generating and overcoming links between the elements:
Peace (Tap unconscious mind)
Strength = Ability to go within and cultivate deep quiet wisdom. Access inner will and purpose. Intention.
Block =Guilt, fear, mistrust, timidity, unworthiness, overwhelm, carelessness.
Inspiration (Bring in consciousness)
Strength = Ability to make decisions, judgment's and plans with insight and spontaneity. Ability to say yes and no. Sexual expression.
Block = Anger, frustration, irritability, resentment, impatience, depression, hatred.
Joy / Love (Put into action)
Strength = Master of action. Ability to execute plans with confidence, take right action. Experience joy and playfulness. Ability to communicate clearly, express creativity, love and intimacy. Ability to give warmth.
Block = Lack of confidence, anxiety, despair, defensiveness, shame, embarrassment, excess happiness and hysteria,
Contentment (Manifest things)
Strength = Ability to settle down and feel connected. Experience compassion, faith and self acceptance. Enjoy fruits of one’s labour.
Block = Worry, indifference, obsessive thoughts, over-sympathy.
Gratitude (Completion of process)
Strength = Ability to discriminate. Decide what to discard and what to keep. What is good for you and what is not. Put things in order and come to completion.
Block = Addiction, grief, longing, greed, melancholy, sorrow and self pity.
In Guided Mind Clearance we primarily use a tool / technique developed by and taught to us by Helen Basinger.
As with the Chinese Philosophies for us to function properly we need our energies to balance. If we have suffered from bad experiences these can cause blockages. With an electric circuit if there is a blockage it can cause the system to not function or trip. Our energy circuits are the same.
Guided Mind Clearance uses the incredible power of our imagination to transmute heavy negative energy into light free flowing positive energy. This removes the emotional blocks that cause issues such as depression, anxiety and PTSD.
